Your health information stays with your health service

How we protect your information

  • Individual information is recorded only in government health records held by the Ministry of Health.
  • Your PHM's follow-up sheet stays in the MOH office.
  • MHEP receives only counts by estate, with no names.
  • Estates, companies, unions and the funder never receive individual information.
  • Your consent is used only for Kushalam, and only staff who need your information can see it.
  • Every three months, a 10% sample of register entries is checked against laboratory reports.

We follow Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022.

Concerns and complaints

If you are worried that your privacy, pay or choice has not been respected, tell your PHM or a community liaison officer. Concerns go to the RDHS, not to estate management, and we aim to resolve them within 30 days.
