Kushalam by MHEP

Potential impact

What AUD 407,525 could achieve in 24 months

Adjust the assumptions to see how uptake, follow-up and treatment translate into women screened, precancers treated and value for money.

Projected impact headline

At 70% uptake, Kushalam could give 4,760 women a valid HPV result, for about AUD 86 per valid result.

If the illustrative assumptions hold (7% HPV positivity, 10 CIN2+ per 1,000, 90% linkage and 90% treatment completion), about 39 precancers could be detected and treated.

Closing the screening gap

Ever-screened rates (FHB & UNFPA, 2019) vs. Kushalam's projected coverage of its eligible women. The dashed line is WHO's 70% screening target.

Safeguards for supporters: quality gates

Funds for each wave are released only after the previous gate is passed. A second miss ends expansion and unspent funds return to DFAT.

First collection wave starts in 4 estates

  2. Gate 1 · August 2027 → 8 estates
